Planning Board Public Hearing Scheduled

Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 215, Article IV, of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Hudson Falls, New York notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Planning Board of the Village of Hudson Falls, County of Washington and State of New York, on the 11th day of July, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the Village Hall, 220 Main Street, Hudson Falls, New York on the following matter:

Request by Hudson River Music Hall, 210 Main St., New York to restore the former Kingsbury Town Hall into a multipurpose event space to be known as the Strand Theatre Music Hall. Plans for the proposal are available at Village Hall, 220 Main Street, Hudson Falls, New York during regular business hours.

Said Planning Board will, at said time and place, hear all persons in support of such matters or any objections thereto.

Grant helps Village support music hall

The Village of Hudson Falls continues to support the Hudson River Music Hall.  Through a Village grant from NYS Main Street the Hudson River Music Hall will be receiving $50,000 in grant funds towards a renovation project at HRMH – 10 Maple Street.

The project includes:  HVAC Heating and Air Conditioning; relocation of furnace to basement; electrical; rubber roof; fire escape; front door to “Black Room”; Upstairs bathroom; spray foam insulation; and misc other repairs and upgrades.  The work associated with moving the furnace has already begun.

The total project is estimated to cost $95,760.70 – the HRMH qualified for $50,000 in grant funds toward the project.

Drew Polsun, an Elvis Presley tribute artist will be performing at 7 p.m. this Saturday, May 3, 2014  at the Hudson Falls High School on East Labarge Street.

Other performances include Jonathan Newell, Randy McGeoch and the Hudson Falls High School Jazz Band.

Tickets are $10 for general admission, $8 for senior citizens and $5 for students and proceeds will go toward funding other concerts at Grace Park on Wall Street.

 Drew Polsun is a native of upstate New York and has been performing from the East Coast to the West coast, including Las Vegas for the past 25 years. He has performed for radio and television and is considered one of the top Elvis Tribute Artists in the country.
